VERDE3: banda bogotana, nace en 2002 como espacio de creación y desarrollo de las composiciones de CHAMPI (Carlos Benavides). La banda descarta las clasificaciones de género (rock, pop, elektro, noise) para combinarlas y así concentrarse en lo que ellos denominan "un nuevo punto de vista frente a las canciones populares", producto de juegos de estilo y valores de producción de avanzada.

Su sonido único es influenciado por dos fuerzas claves que los impulsan: en Diana Galán (voces, dirección de arte, composición, arrreglos, minimoog), su amor por los cantantes populares hispanos (Rocío Durcal y Juan Gabriel por nombrar unos); y su encuentro con la pasión de Carlos "Champi" Benavides (voces, dirección musical y discográfica, arreglos, rickenbacker 360) por la creación y desarrollo de canciones originales: el pop llevado hasta un punto de perfección (The Smiths, Nick Drake, Mecano, Charly García, Air).

VERDE3: born 2002 in Bogota as a workspace for the creation and development of compositions authored by CHAMPI (Carlos Benavides). The band discards genre classifications (rock, pop, elektro, noise) so as to combine them and thus concentrate in what they call "a new point of view with respect to popular songs," a result of a playful approach towards style and a forward-thinking set of production values.

Their unique sound is influenced by two main forces which drive them: Diana Galan (vocals, art direction, writing, arranging, minimoog)'s love for Hispanic popular singers (Rocio Durcal and Juan Gabriel to name a few) blended with Carlos Champi Benavides (vocals, musical and recording direction, writing, arranging, rickenbacker 360)'s passion for developing original songs: pop to the point of perfection (The Smiths, Nick Drake, Mecano, Charly Garcia, Air).

* ¿Cuál es el estilo de VERDE3?
Se puede resumir en POP o "música para radio." Ahora, el tipo de radio al que verde3 aspira entrar es una nueva radio. Una radio web o una radio inteligente. Un buen fm, un buen am, una buena radio satelital, iPhones. Lo electrónico está presente pero quienes nos han seguido saben que podemos ser desde elektro total hasta netamente acústicos, lo cual explica que nos escuche gente de diferentes tipos y edades.

* ¿VERDE3 graba en estudio o en vivo?
Ambas cosas. Tenemos una obsesión con la documentación, por lo cual grabamos casi todos los shows importantes como si fuesen discos en vivo. A la vez, estamos desarrollando unas grabaciones en el estudio, pero entendiendo el proceso de grabación de estudio como punto de culminación de un trabajo en el escenario y no al revés, siempre grabar cosas que podemos estar realizando en la realidad de los shows.

It may be summed up as POP or "music for the radio." Now, the type of radio in which verde3 aspires to break through is a new radio. A web radio or an intelligent radio. A good fm, a good am, a good satellite radio, iPhones. The electronics are present but those who've been following us know that we can be from total elektro all the way to being completely acoustic, which explains that we have listeners of all types and ages.

* VERDE3 records live or in the studio?
Both. We have an obsession with recording, which is why we tape almost all of our important shows as if they were live albums. At the same time, we're developing material in the studio, but understanding the studio recording process as a culmination point of what began as stage work and not vice versa, to always record material that we can actually be playing in the reality of live shows.
